At the start of the year, Trinity was a typical 14-year-old looking forward to school and spending time at the Fine Arts Center, where she studies visual arts. But after weeks of persistent nausea and stomach pain, what seemed like a lingering illness became something much more serious.
In January, after multiple doctor visits and growing concern, Charlita took Trinity to the emergency room. There, doctors discovered tumors on her liver. Trinity was diagnosed with liver cancer.
The diagnosis came quickly, and chemotherapy began the day after Trinity’s 15th birthday. She endured inpatient treatments for several months and is now being considered for a liver transplant—a hopeful next step in her journey.
Through it all, Trinity has remained remarkably grounded. An artist at heart, she finds peace in drawing, painting, and printmaking. Art is her outlet—a way to process emotions and express creativity even in difficult seasons.
Clement’s Kindness entered their lives during hospital stays, bringing care packages filled with blankets, activities, and thoughtful comforts. Financial assistance and gas cards eased the strain of frequent hospital trips. Although illness prevented Trinity from attending some events, simply knowing those opportunities were available brought encouragement.
For Charlita, navigating this journey as a single mother has been overwhelming at times. But the support they’ve received has helped make an unthinkable situation more bearable.
Trinity continues to create, dream, and look ahead—proof that even in the face of serious illness, beauty and hope can still take shape.
